Story
Hi all and thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As you may have gathered by now, between the 5th and 8th of September 2013, I am cycling from London to Brussels as part of an Alzheimer's Society fundraising event. It's a 3 day journey totalling 379KM, which I'm sure will provide me with an exciting and enjoyable endurance challenge. (And a very sore..... pair of legs!)
Cycling is a big passion of mine and I usually ride off road, but I thought I'd venture in to the world of the roadie and there's nothing like a big challenge for motivation. It can't be that hard, can it??
So, why the Alzheimer's Society? Well, to cut a long story short, I'm doing this for my Grandad Peter. He has been battling with the effects of Alzheimer's for a number of years now and I am compelled to do something to try to make a difference for others. It's a cause close to my heart and with your help and fundraising efforts, maybe in the future less people will suffer at the hands of this terrible disease.
UPDATE 23rd March.
Sadly, Grandad Peter lost his battle on the 19th March.
If you can spare anything, please do. All your kind support and continued generosity goes a long way.
