Story
I recently lost my younger brother, and running partner, to suicide.
My brother, Bryan, took his own life in July this year after battling with anxiety and depression for most of his adult life, neddless to say this has had a devastating effect on me and my family.
Bryan and I shared a passion for running, exercise and generally any strenuous activities we could get involved with. The running was a good outlet for Bryan but unfortunley it was not enough.
Mind and Oxfordshire Mind helped and supported Bryan for many years. For almost every event he took part in, Bryan wore his Mind vest with pride to raise awareness of mental health, whilst raising what funds he could. As a recipient of anti-depressants and regular counseling sessions, Bryan was acutely aware of the financial constrants mental health charities operate within and wanted to help.
We had planned to run the Cardiff Half Marathon together, sadly however, this was not meant to be. As a tribute, I ran the event wearing Bryan's Mind vest.
It is my intention to continue honoring Bryan's memory by running and raising funds and awareness of Mind and mental health
