Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Following a shocking diagnosis of ovarian cancer in September 2017 Beth fought this devastating disease with the dignity and grace that we had come to expect of our beautiful Beth. After chemotherapy and major surgery we thought she had beaten it. Sadly, after further surgery to find the cause of continued pain it was found that the disease was back and was now terminal.
Beth tried to stay at home with the help of the St Elizabeth Hospice nurses, family and friends but found the security and comfort that the inpatient care at the hospice provided was what she needed at a very anxious time. Beth stayed at the hospice for six weeks and passed away peacefully surrounded by those who loved her. The hospice continues to provide support to the friends and family as they come to terms with Beth’s passing.
As the hospice relys mainly on donations I’ve decided to take on the task of running the marathon on there behalf.
I’ve taken on marathons before as many of you know but after a severe injury to my knee in 2017 as I’ve not really ran any distance for the last 18 months so it’s a huge personal achievement to do this in my sister in laws memory.
