Story
Action Medical Research are 70 years old this year. The leading charity funding vital research to help defeat the diseases that devastate the lives of sick and disabled babies, children and young people.
Action Medical Research are determined to stop the suffering of babies and children caused by disease and disability. By supporting us, you are helping to find ways to reduce premature birth, to support children facing a lifetime of challenges caused by disabilities, and to develop cutting-edge therapies for rare and incurable diseases.
The work they do is amazing and they truly make a difference.
To help raise awareness, and hopefully some money, me and my 3 compadres will be putting our ill-equipped bodies through the wringer again and taking part in the Race the Sun Brecon endurance event.
This extremely tough dawn to dusk trial involves us cycle almost 90KM around the incredible winding lanes of the Brecons, kayak just under 3.5KM on Lake Llangorse, and finally hike up to the summit of Pen Y Fan, the highest mountain in the Brecon Beacons with an altitude of 886m, on a 13KM round trip to raise money for this incredible cause.
Starting at sun up on the Saturday, we really hope to complete it before sun down in the evening - a huge challenge that makes us all a bit nervous!!
With your help, we're determined to make a real difference to children's lives.
