Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm a selfish middle aged man in lycra and don't think I have ever done an event for charity so thought, what might be my one and only international race, would be the perfect time to start. I qualified for the GB age group team the year before Covid - despite getting food posioning the week before the qualifying event and genuinely spewing all over myself on the bike during it! I found out about qualification right in the middle of setting up the lighthouse lab in Glasgow, which has probably handled every one of the PCR tests you fine people have so generously exfoliated your tonsils with over the last 18 months, which wasn't the best start to the training regime. Since then it's been a bit of a roller coaster, for everyone, but it looks like it is going to go ahead in Valencia in September. I'll be racing in GB kit in the youngest old persons category (age 40-44) and thought the pressure of trying to raise some cash might help with the post covid lethargy.
CHAS is a charity local to me, they do fantastic work supporting children and their families with end of life care, something that should not have to exist but does and which needs your support.
