Story
I AM SO EXCITED!
Yes, I am so excited, 18 brave men sailing non-stop around the world, without G.P.S - just charts, compasses, barometers and sextants. And SITraN have been chosen as the Charity for the race.
As all my friends will know, my son Shaun Keane died of Motor Neurone Disease in 2010 after suffering with it for two and a half years.
The Patrons of SITraN made it possible through donators & their kind donations to raise the £20 million pounds to build SITraN - the world’s first purpose built, dedicated research institute for Motor Neurone, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases.
SITraN relies on charitable donations to buy very specialised medical equipment, for example we are at present trying to raise £2 million pounds towards a MRI-PET Scanner, the total raised so far:
£1.5 million pounds
If you would like to help, any amount of the remainder would be greatly appreciated. You can donate at any time during the race.
100% of any money raised goes direct to SITraN, supporting research into the BIG THREE most horrible of DISEASES. Over 200 doctors & scientists are working towards finding a cure. SITraN collaborates closely with institutes from around the world, including ones from France, America, Australia, South America and China.
Thank you and keep following the daily updates www.GoldenGlobeRace2018.com - it will last for over 300 days!
Please tell all your family & friends about this most worthy of causes.
Let’s all get excited and help find the cure.
Yours in hope,
Stuart Keane - Patron of SITraN
