The London Marathon is a huge challenge & an event I have been trying to get a place in since 2005, when Flora were the sponsors. Flora operated a ballot system where if you applied for 5 consecutive years, on the 5th year of applying you were guaranteed a place. Unfortunately for me, on my 5th year of applying Virgin took over the sponsorship & scrapped the 5 year scheme! So I continued to apply every year anyway.

I eventually got a place through the ballot in 2013, but decided to defer it as my son had just been born. At long last in 2014 I’m in!

Please give generously to The Prince Of Wales Hospice, they are a fantastic charity and were a favourite of my wife’s late grandparents who passed recently.
