Story
My mum was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1998. During the last 14 years we have all witnessed a rapid decline in her health however the last five months have been her greatest challenge yet. Her husband, Bob, sadly died last month after having spent five months in hospital following a brain hemorrhage.
My mum cannot walk. She struggles to articulate her thoughts. Yet every day for five months she made it to Bob's bedside in a motorised wheelchair using either a bus or taxi - a round trip of around 40 miles. Given her physical limitations and the amount of time it took her to do this, the journey alone took up her entire day - day in, day out.
The MS society has been a great support to my mum and I'd like to give something back.
I'm going to be climbing MT Kilimanjaro on behalf of the MS Society in September and would be very grateful if you could support the charity and its amazing work.
Hopefully one day there will be a cure for this awful disease.
