Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In 2016 I applied to join West Yorkshire Police and after getting through several stages of the application/interview process I took the decision to get fit through running. After a setback to do with my eyesight I had laser eye surgery and am now set to join as a trainee constable in September this year.
As people who know me are aware i led a mainly inactive lifestyle so found running challenging yet enjoyable, especially considering 15 years of no exercise and plently of beer and takeaways. Through this time I have gradually built up my fitness until I decided to attend a local parkrun which was my first 5k. Since then I have been determined to get my times quicker and see the next step in this journey is to challenge myself to my first 10k.
I have chosen to fund raise for "The Police Treatment Centres" due to having the utmost respect for the job done by the police in this country and believe they should be supported as well as possible in their time of need following physical or mental injury. Recent events in Manchester and London have made this more apparent than ever. Please vist their website linked on this page for more information on the valuable work they carry out
If you chose to sponsor me I would like to thank you for your generosity and the more I can get for this cause will make me even more determined on my journey to my first 10k!
