Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My good friend, Donald Sayers, lost his mother to cancer last year after a long hard battle.
Having shared a bottle of very acceptable red wine one evening, he mentioned the 340 mile cycle ride he was organising to raise money in her memory.
"That's a lovely gesture" I thought "Good luck with that".
"Why is he looking at me hopefully?"
So having foolishly agreed I promptly forgot all about. Until now.
I've cunningly not done any long distance cycling because I'm sure it would be very tiring and I need to keep my legs fresh. Well that's my excuse. Anyway I'm sure it'll all work out.
I've done bits and pieces of cycling in my time but this weekend will be interesting.
CRUK is the leading Cancer Research charity in the UK. Having worked directly with their scientists (in my day job) I know how much effort and dedication goes into each small breakthrough. Cancer survival rates are significantly improved due to their work.
So please consider how bad I'll feel Sat and Sunday and stick a £5 my way to make the suffering worthwhile and reduce someone else's (more serious) suffering.
