Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
After running my first marathon in Chester last October I vowed never to do another, yet here I am just 6 months later training for my 2nd! What can I say? I am unreliable and nothing I ever say can be trusted? True, but since this is the first Manchester Marathon after a ten year absence, and it practically goes right past my house, it felt rude not giving it a go!
Last time, with your help, we raised the fantastic sum of £417 for Christies Hospital. I’d like to thank everyone who donated and supported me!
If you’d like to sponsor me this time you can donate directly on this page using a credit card (don’t forget to say if you are a UK tax payer because the government will kindly contribute more if you do through their Gift Aid program).
Whether you donate or not, if you’re not busy on Sunday 29th April then why not watch the race and cheer me, and the other 7999 runners, along as we go past.
The course runs through Old Trafford, Stretford, Sale, Brooklands, Timperley, Altrincham before heading into the country then it returns through Carrington and Urmston and back to Old Trafford.
Metrolink is fully supporting the marathon and is definitely the easiest way to get around on the day. Spectators can buy a full weekend Metrolink saver ticket for only £5 and the course runs right past Sale, Brooklands, Altrincham and Stretford stops. More info in the Race Booklet
I hope to see you on Sunday!
