We provide lifesaving loos & clean water to help people escape generational poverty

Story

Toilet Twinning, established in 2010 as the fundraising arm of major international charity Tearfund, raises funds to enable poor communities to have clean water, a basic toilet and to learn about hygiene. Building toilets in schools enables children, particularly girls, to attend school in safety without fear of being bitten by snakes or assaulted. We have twinned in excess of 100,000 loos since inception. www.toilettwinning.org

During Lent this year, we are launching an appeal amongst our congregation and the wider community that use our Church Hall, to raise money to twin our toilets at St Stephen's and support those who have less safe and hygienic toilets than we are fortunate to have.

One in four people on earth don’t have somewhere safe, clean and hygienic to go to the loo. We think that's bang out of order. By twinning your toilet, you help those in desperate poverty have access to a proper latrine, clean water and hygiene education - a vital combination that saves lives.
