Story

If you would like to purchase one ticket, please come and see us at The Shambles Indoor Market, Stroud - we have a stall there every Saturday.

Cats are at the heart of everything we do. Whether it's finding them loving new homes, promoting the benefits of neutering or educating about responsible cat care – we work tirelessly to provide them with better and brighter futures. Last year Stroud Cats Protection rehomed more than 200 cats and kittens, despite the Covid-19 pandemic.

Now as the world starts to open up again, we are bracing ourselves for more tough times. Many routine veterinary treatments had to be put on hold during lockdown, which meant that we have been very busy as we continue to deal with the impact of lockdown.  We have seen litters of kittens whose young mothers have not been neutered.  Sadly, many people are struggling for financial, physical, or mental health reasons due to the pandemic and as a result we have seen cats whose owners came to us heartbroken, because they can no longer care for their beloved pet.

Stroud Cats Protection will always be here for the cats, and their owners, but we do need your help.

During the Lockdowns, we have been unable to undertake our usual Fundraising activities so are running this appeal so we can continue to support cats in our local region.

We'll continue to do our utmost to create a better world for cats. We're determined to achieve our vision of a world where every cat is treated with kindness and an understanding of its needs. But all of this costs money, and we rely on donations from the public in order to continue our work.

We recently took in a young cat who had been the victim of a road traffic accident, as her owner was unable to pay for the leg amputation that she needed. We paid for her veterinary treatment, cared for her whilst she adapted to being a three-legged cat, and will keep her safe in our care until we find her a new home.

We have just taken in five cats, a mother with her three adult sons and one daughter, when their owner could no longer cope with them.  They had been kept in a small flat and were all quiet and withdrawn. Sadly, none of them were neutered, and the mother and daughter were both pregnant. The boys have now been castrated and following patient care from their fosterer are coming out of hiding and enjoying lots of fuss.  We will find them nice new homes where they can choose to go outside.  We will care for the mother and daughter whilst they have their kittens, and they will be spayed before going to their new homes too.

With your support, we can help many more cats like this, they really do need us!

Thank you in advance for your support.
