Thanks for taking the time to visit the 'Stroke for Stroke' JustGiving page.
In support of the Stroke Association, Michael Taylor, accompanied by his four sons, is taking on an epic rowing challenge - Stroke for Stroke.
In August 2012 our Dad, Michael Taylor, suffered a severe stroke. He then spent the next 6 weeks in hospital recovering and re-teaching his body how to perform basic day-to-day motor skills.
Prior to the stroke, Michael had maintained a high level of fitness and even in his 60s was regularly seen climbing, skiing, riding bikes or generally working up a good appetite. The result being that any loss of mobility was considered a significant 'inconvenience'.
It was no surprise therefore that not long thereafter, Dad decided that it was time to dust off his sweatband and get back to work. A marathon, he thought....
The event will be a “marathon” to be performed on ergometers located on the side of the river Thames at Putney on July 26th 2014.
