Story
Hello there,
I'm not a dancer but I've always been fortunate enough to have a home. I'm hoping that by attempting to dance, I will play a small part in ending somebody's homelessness.
Dublin Simon Community work to prevent and address homelessness in Dublin, Kildare, Wicklow and Meath. Unless you've been living under a rock, you'll know that homelessness in Ireland is at crisis point.
In January 2017, the recorded number of people who are homeless passed the 7,000 mark for the very first time.
That's 7,148 people on our little island who don't have a safe, secure place to call home. That includes over 2,500 children.
Apart from throwing some shapes on a night out, I have no formal dancing experience. I have, on the other hand, been known to injure myself while sitting still. This should be fun.
On 5th May, I will take part in Strictly Simon and perform in front of an audience in aid of Dublin Simon. Any support you can give would be hugely appreciated.
Kate
