Story
We have the exciting opportunity for 15 - 21 year olds from Yorkshire and Humber communities to attend the Commonwealth Games 2022 Birmingham July - August 2022.
As you will be aware, Covid-19 has greatly exacerbated the impact of poverty with children & young people disproportionately affected, both their physical and mental well-being. We have all been working really hard throughout the pandemic, delivering critical activity, crisis support, online social activities, supporting youth led community responses such as food parcel delivery and co-creating physical activity packs (and much more).
We know that young people now need support to reconnect, have fun, celebrate and access leadership opportunities.
The Commonwealth Games 2022 Camp, will not only give young people the chance to attend an inspirational event, the camp will allow them to develop their leadership skills, gain volunteering experience and meet other young people from outside their area - something many will never have had the opportunity to do.
Not only that - but all the activities are designed and led by young people themselves, working with StreetGames staff over the coming months to develop an unforgettable event for their peers.
