Story
Ten years
ago I ran my first half marathon. I absolutely loved it. I didn’t know then it would be my last for another decade. When I crossed the finish line my son Tom gave me a big hug. He wasn’t himself – he was quiet and seemed ill and I asked if he was okay. Just two weeks later he was diagnosed with a brain tumour. His diagnosis changed my life forever, and eight months later he died at the age of
just nine.
Since then, I set up Tom’s Trust in my son’s name and watched it go from strength to strength. I’m now going to run my first half marathon since Tom’s death, the Cambridge Half Marathon. With our other Tom’s Trust runners we aim to raise enough money to support every child in the region for a whole year through this race. I’d be so grateful if you could donate, to help every child with a brain tumour who needs our support.
