Story
We are Stourbridge Jets Netball Club - a group of over 30 girls who enjoy playing netball together socially and competitively in various Dudley and Wolverhampton leagues.
We have all been so deeply affected by what has been happening in Ukraine and we have been looking for some way in which we can help. Therefore, we have decided to hold a fun mixed netball tournament on Sunday 3rd April at The Wordsley School in order to raise money to support those suffering in Ukraine.
Intense conflict in Ukraine is threatening the lives and livelihoods of civilians across the country, causing hundreds of thousands to flee. Homes have been destroyed. Essential services have been hit. Families have been separated. People have been injured. Lives have been lost. So help us to help Ukraine! All of the money we raise will be donated to the charity DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.
DEC charities and their local partners are in Ukraine and across the border in the neighbouring countries. They are working to meet the immediate needs of all people fleeing with food, water, medical assistance, protection and trauma care. Just £30 could provide essential hygiene supplies for three people for one month. £50 could provide blankets for 4 families to keep warm. £100 could provide emergency food for two families for one month.
So how can you help?
If you want to join in the fun then please send your team sheet (up to 7 players of all abilities - but must be over the age of 18 years old) to stourbridgejetsnetball@gmail.com. It is £10 per person to play.
Alternatively, if netball isn't your thing and you would just like to sponsor us, then please do by clicking the 'Just Giving' button on the right hand side of this page.
Thank you everyone. Together we can help to support Ukraine.
