The Aim

Each year I take part in a number of challenging long distance runs across the UK, dressed from head to toe in an original Stormtrooper costume from the Star Wars films.

Kidscape is the UK's first charity set up to provide training, support and advice to children, parents, schools and those in professional contact with young people, to enable them to gain knowledge and develop the confidence and skills to challenge abuse and bullying in all its forms.

The Challenge

Each year I compete in a number of running events around the UK, dressed as a Stormtrooper from Star Wars! The runs include:

March Lincoln 10km, Lincoln

May BUPA London 10,000, London

June Jane Tomlinson’s Hull 10km, Hull

July Bupa Great North 10km, Gateshead

July Jane Tomlinson’s Leeds 10km, Leeds

August Jane Tomlinson’s York 10km, York

October Bournemouth Supersonic 10k, Bournemouth

October Bupa Great South Run (10 miles), Portsmouth

In addition a number of other events are planned each year, including running on a treadmill dressed as a Stormtrooper in supermarkets and shopping centres, as well as running round parks and other public areas during advertised times. Local papers, radio stations and television stations will also continue to support me at these events.

Kidscape is a hugely important charity. As a teacher, and as a parent, I am acutely aware not only of the prevalence of both bullying and abuse but its appalling impact. Please help me to raise money for the hugely important work which Kidscape does to help keep our children safe, protected and able to enjoy being children.
