Story
Each of us have our own particular reason for supporting Tommy's, here in our own words are our stories.

My wife at the time had a miscarriage, resulting in the loss of our baby, which I was sure was a little girl.
It’s heartbreaking, especially because of the joys of pregnancy and the possibility of a child.
Close to my heart running for Tommy’s for my little girl that never lived.

During my birth I was born clinical dead, I had strangled myself on the umbilical cord. The doctors were able to revive me however I flatlined, died again but thankfully the doctors were able to revive me for a second time. Not every person gets two chances at life and if it wasn't for the amazing work & research done by charities like Tommy's I may not be here today. Anything I can do to support the babies of the future, to give them a fighting chance then I'll do it.

Hi everyone, I’ve signed up to this run as after spending many years running around London in uniform why not run for a great cause, laugh with friends and soak up the incredible atmosphere. So why have I have chosen to run for Tommy’s? Having personally experienced the loss of two babies, I want to do all I can to raise awareness and funds to help in the research into premature births and miscarriages. If by running I can help fund further research into stillbirth and miscarriage to help stop others suffering the heartache then why the hell not!

In March myself and a group of friends are running the London Landmarks Half Marathon, raising money for Tommys Charity.
I have run a few half marathons, but this one will be special, as it is for Tommys and I was born in London.
What a great way to raise money for such a good cause- Tommys baby charity.
1 in 4 mums and dads experience the devastating experience of the loss of a child.
Monies raised will go towards funding clinics, research centres, as well as a support phone line run by the team of Tommy's midwives.
Any donation, no matter how small will be greatly received.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story.

We proud to be joining Team Tommy's in the London Landmarks Half Marathon 2020 to support Tommy's and continue their vital work saving babies' lives. Tommy's fund research into miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth, and provide pregnancy health information to parents. They believe it is unacceptable that one in four women lose a baby during pregnancy and birth. They want every parent to have the best possible pregnancy outcomes and to take home happy, healthy babies. Please support us to take on the 13.1 miles of the London Landmarks Half Marathon. To give you an idea of the impact of your donation: £10 could buy a thermometer to help doctors at the Tommys miscarriage research centre predict ovulation. £100 could pay for a blood pressure monitor at the Tommys miscarriage research centre. £350 could fund a Tommy's midwife for a day on our pregnancy line giving specialist pregnancy advice and support. Thank you so much for your support!
