As we can't travel at the moment due to Covid-19, I thought it might be fun to make a little game of "where in the world is my stoma?" to get you in the mood for when the world opens up and we can travel again 😊
It's no secret that I love to travel, and in my 5+ years with an ostomy, my stoma and I have been blessed to go on many adventures to some amazing countries. I often share "Where in the world is my stoma?" photos getting my belly out in front of famous (and not so famous!) landmarks, asking you to guess which city or country we're in.
Getting out of our comfort zone, away from the comfort of home and traveling (especially air travel) can be a big concern for many new ostomates or someone facing surgery. My aim is to show people that there's nothing to fear! Travel with an ostomy (with a little extra prep) is very doable, and an ostomy shouldn't stop you from getting out there, living life, doing what you want to do, including travel the world!!! I've written many blog posts about life and travel with an ostomy on my
blog.
It's free to enter the quiz, however if you would like to make a small donation as an entry fee, I will be donating all funds raised to Crohn's & Colitis UK and IA - Ileostomy and Internal Pouch Association. There will be 3 rounds (one per week) - starting easy and getting gradually harder. Points are up for grabs and whoever gets the highest number of points after 3 rounds will win some prizes!! Be sure to check in to my
Facebook and
Instagram page for updates and hints, and enter all 3 rounds to increase your chances of winning!
I hope this is a bit of fun during these difficult and strange times, and I hope it helps at least one person have the confidence to go travelling with their ostomy in the future!
Good luck, keep well and happy (when we're allowed!) travels x
