Story
I really enjoyed finishing the Liverpool half marathon today and thank you to my lovely wife Anna for giving up her Sunday lie in to be my chauffeur and cheerleader! With all your support we've raised £400 for Cancer Research UK. In addition though, my wonderful employers at Mando will match our initial target meaning £650 raised in total - (thanks again Ian) I'm made up with that total and I know Terry would have been pleased too but he'd have definitely given me some stick for my finishing time (02:16). So then, some work to do for the next one but I'm never doing a full one!
Firstly, a massive thank you to those who have sponsored me for Sunday and helped push me over my original target. It's such a great charity and your support is very much appreciated and as this is my first long distance event it might just help me through the last mile (or 5!) If anyone else would like to donate, I am raising funds on behalf of Cancer Research UK, please use the link below or simply text IPAS78 followed by the £amount to 70070 e.g IPAS78 £3 No more spam from me now I promise!
Wow, 75% to the target already. Thank you all so much, any one else that'd like to help us get to the full target use the link or text IPAS78 followed by the £amount to 70070 e.g IPAS78 £5
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I decided to (try to) run this half marathon to raise a little money for a great cause and in memory of my father in law Terry, who sadly passed away last year. Terry was a man I admired greatly; an example to us all in all walks of his life.
In his day he was an athlete to be feared, breaking running records and even donning the shirt of his (and my) beloved Everton. I thought doing a running event in his home city would be a fitting tribute.
