Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
On Sunday 11th December, we will be reviving the iconic football rivalry between the 'older' and 'younger' year groups at Stoke Newington. In its third edition, we will be fundraising for a charity close to our hearts - Hackney Night Shelter - whose mission is to provide routes out of homelessness for people in need in Hackney. This mission is increasingly important around Christmas, a time where no one should be sleeping rough. This week the latest rough sleeping figures were published - showing a 24% increase in the number of people found sleeping rough in London in just the last three months.
For 25 years Hackney Night Shelter have not only provided emergency accommodation and shelter for those in need in our community, but also professional and holistic support to help their guests rebuild their lives and move towards a more sustainable lifestyle. Hackney Night Shelter don't receive any government funding, so rely on grants, donations and fundraising to fund their vital work. Events like this are a huge opportunity to raise money to continue providing this essential service for those experiencing homelessness in Hackney.
Our very own Dexter Holloway is a Shelter Coordinator at Hackney Night Shelter. "I have seen first hand the incredible work this charity does for the street homeless of London. We look to continue this into 2023 with our new shelter site, which we will be moving into in January. Fundraising events like this will help us start the year strongly and help even more people than before."

The event kicks off at 4pm on Sunday 11th December at Stoke Newington School - we invite you to come down, watch and show your support. The match will be followed by an exciting raffle taking place at a local venue (TBC) with plenty of prizes on offer.
We hope to see you then! Thanks in advance for your donations.
Adam, Bertie, Emmanuel and the 'Olders' and 'Youngers'.
