Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In December 2017, we sadly lost a great family friend, Les Mustoe. His unique contribution as a teacher, a rolemodel and a great friend to so many will not be forgotten and as a tribute to his impact on my family and my own life, I have decided to run the Ironman 70.3 (basically a long triathlon) to raise money for Cancer Research UK in his memory.
As Les dedicated his life to Mathematics as a Professor (he would say "Distinguished Educator") at Loughborough University, I thought it fitting to target the number 'Pi' (which is 3.14159....), except I've moved the decimal space up three spaces to really aim high !
The event is a total distance of 70.3 miles (hence the name) although I'll break it down - Swim (1.2mile/1.9km), Cycle (56mile/90km), Run (13.1mile/21.2km). This will obviously be a gruelling endeavour, so any contribution to the target will be massively, massively appreciated.
I really want to do Les proud, and I would love for you to be part of the journey with me !
