Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
St. Martin's has been a Christian presence in Southdene for nearly 70 years, from the beginning of the New Town of Kirkby. We meet in a beautiful and unique building each week, and hope to encounter the love of God in worship and friendship in each other. St. Martin's hopes to be a place where everyone is welcome, whether you've been to church all your life, you've never been before, or anything in between.
This page is here because the generous giving of local people is what sustains the church week by week. We receive no central or government funding, so it is generous giving that sustains:
- our building, a sacred place dedicated to worship, prayer and witness
- our service, shown through every bereaved family supported; every baby, child or adult christened; every couple married; every lunch served and shared; every Eucharist celebrated; every prayer said; and every person who is met with the love, care and compassion of Christ.
Jesus talked about our giving as a spiritual discipline, just as much as any prayer and worship. We give as a response to the overwhelming love of God, and as an expression of our own love. Please consider prayerfully whether you are able to support the mission of St. Martin's in Southdene. Thank you!
