Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our Just Giving page. Please support us if you can. We want to raise as much money as possible for the St John’s All-Weather Pitch appeal.

Eleven members of staff will be taking part in the Three Peaks Challenge this weekend: Miss Clapton, Mr Cobbold, Ms Dickinson, Mr Friend, Mr Goodland, Mrs Montague, Mr Paul, Miss Popham, Mr Shields, Miss Simpson and Mr Turnbull. The drivers are Mr Opie & Mr Stell.

The Three Peaks Challenge involves walking the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours. We will be starting from St John’s on Friday the 27 September, heading straight up to Ben Nevis, the highest peak in Britain at 1344m. We will be arriving in the early hours of Saturday morning after no sleep Friday night. We aim to get up and down Ben Nevis in 4 hours. Then we drive on to Scafell Pike (987m) in the Lake District, getting down hopefully on Saturday evening. We will then be heading off to climb Snowdon in the middle of the night, braving a bracing wind-chill, and getting down by 4am Sunday.

You can show your support by donating through Just Giving. It is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to St John’s. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

About the charity

St John's School is an 11-18 secondary school in Marlborough, Wiltshire with almost 1,700 students. The new school building which opened in December 2009 was entirely self-funded from a combination of land sale and fundraising. Now we need help to complete our external sports facilities.
