Stirk Lambert Keighley to Kathmandu Challenge, 1 July 2020
With fundraising events cancelled and no clear indication of when we can open our shops or how long it will take them to return to normal trading, Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice anticipate a funding gap of £1.5m for this financial year.

Story

On 1st July 2020 25 intrepid souls left the offices of Stirk Lambert & Co, Keighley to virtually travel through 15 countries to arrive at Kathmandu, Nepal by 30 September with a final push to Everest base camp. This will include 6469 land miles and 21 sea miles.... quite a challenge for a bunch of desk bound accountants!

The 25 participants are completing the miles via either walking, cycling or running and the sea miles are to be completed by swimming or rowing.

Sue Ryder Nurses and healthcare teams are always there for local people who are dying. They are providing incredible emotional support as well as specialist medical care to people who are finding themselves in unimaginably difficult circumstances. We are all facing something we have never faced before which is why Sue Ryder has launched an appeal to make sure that they are still here. We are asking you to give whatever you can afford at this difficult time. Every pound you give could make the difference to whether they can be there or not. It is that simple.

Sue Ryder is here to make sure everyone approaching the end of their life or living with grief can get the support they need. There is no one size fits all when it comes to how we cope and the help we need, but with our support, no one has to face dying or grief alone. We are there when it matters.
