We raise money for research, care & support to help cancer patients get the best care.
Story
One day last summer I went out to get a haircut. Little did I know that following a detour to Specsavers and Moorfields A&E I would find out that I had a uveal melanoma - a rare form of eye cancer.
Purpose of the event no.1 - Raise awareness of the importance of regular eye tests. As with all cancers the earlier it is diagnosed the easier it is to treat. Look out for free eye test promotions and just go get one! It takes 10 mins
Fast forward 6 months and thanks to Moorfields Eye Hospital, Liverpool University Hospital and Clatterbridge Cancer Centre I am making a very speedy recovery.
Purpose of the event no.2 - Raise funds so that the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre can continue to provide such an amazing service
To raise awareness of the importance of regular eye tests and to raise funds for the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, Simon and I will be climbing the national 3 peaks (Snowden, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis) while cycling between them - all over 4 days. On average it is about 1 peak and 120miles each day!
