Story
Earlier this year, Stickyeyes chose Simon on the Streets as its charity for the year. Working across West Yorkshire, Simon on the Street supports rough sleepers, and those at risk, through offering emotional and practical support.
The charity’s headline event is the annual Sleep with Simons fundraiser. We’re sending three of our Stickyeyes ranks – Francesca Brookes, Audrey Langevin and Peter Adams – to join around 150 other people in a mass sleep-out, to get an idea of what Leeds’ rough-sleepers experience every night and to raise awareness for the cause.
Any donations towards the target of £200 would be greatly appreciated.
What the charity says
Simon on the Street exists to provide support to those people in our community, who are often excluded from, or who refuse the intervention of other services, with a view to empower them to change their lives. Adopting a usually long-term approach, we achieve this by providing our service users support directly on the street through outreach. Our support is unconditional, all times of day and night. We provide motivation towards accessing a wide range of services to help improve the health of our service users and life choices they make.
