Story
My Grandad, Stewart Mirfin, died of cancer at the end of this summer holiday and a few weeks later, on the second day back at Med School, our family dog Lily died. I miss them both so much. I've decided it would be best to honour their memories by raising money for Thornberry animal sanctuary.
My Grandad had been a volunteer dog walker at Thornberry until he became ill a few years ago. A love and respect for animals has been a family characteristic with many strays saved and rehomed over the years. He also used to run marathons and I recently found a photo of him running the Sheffield Marathon, so I decided to start training for the Sheffield Half marathon in his Memory. I love you Grandad. X
Lily was a ball of positive energy in Doggy form. I always wanted a dog, she helped create my happiest memories. Her life was too short and the diagnosis of terminal cancer sudden. She was 8 years old and we expected and hoped for manymore years with her. Knowing the joy, a dog can bring to a family, thanks to my dear puppy, I want to help to raise money for Thornberry to save more animals lives so they can bring joy to countless families. I miss you Lily.
Please support me in my challenge by sponsoring me and help Thornberry Animal Sanctuary to care for animals in need.
Thank you
William.
