Story
To help support Childline this year I’m challenging myself and others to “go the distance” by “doing 35” before the end of October. If you could spare some change to help towards my target then great, thank you! But I’m also asking for people to join in the challenge and do their own fundraising by “going the distance” too. Like me, you could cycle 35 miles this month or you could run 35 miles, walk 35 metres, climb 35 flights of stairs or do 35 star jumps this month. Whatever you chose to do, use the number 35 as your inspiration and complete it before the end of October. Let’s celebrate Childline by making sure there’s always someone to answer the call when a child needs it most.
NSPCC Childline is there to give young people a voice when no one else is listening and whatever problems or dangers they’re facing, Childline provides a place for them to turn to for support any time of day or night.
Childline will celebrate it’s 35th birthday on 30th October! That’s 35 years of being a phone call away for vulnerable children when they need it most.
During the first spring lockdown of the pandemic 50 children a day turned to Childline after suffering abuse or neglect.
It costs £30,000 a day to keep Childline running so to ensure it can be there today, tomorrow and for the next 35 years, NSPCC needs your support.
