*Comedian to donate all further Comedy earnings in 2020 to Cancer Research*

Hello my name is Stevie Gray and I’m a stand-up comedian from Oldham, currently living in Derbyshire.

For the past few months, I’ve been suffering with a sore throat and a loss of voice. When a number of GP’s were unable to resolve it, they sent me to a specialist to test for cancer.

After having my initial tests last week, today, I’m at the Ultrasound department, having X-Rays to see if they can find anything. Regardless of whether this is cancer or not, there is no way I would wish the horrible feeling of nervousness and anxiety on anybody.

Therefore, I am going to donate all of my comedy earnings for the rest of the year to Cancer Research UK (using their Channel 4 campaign Stand Up to Cancer).

I have set up a JustGiving Page to track my progress and will be starting tonight in Nottingham at the Canalhouse.

I’ve set a target of £500, which would only need ten £50 gigs until the end of the year.

I would love to hit nearer £1000 through Comedy shows and donations. However, gigs at the moment are few and far between, and the money that promoters can pay is reduced.

I’m more than happy to pay for the petrol, so will play anywhere if the donation makes the journey practical.

I must admit, my voice isn’t fully back to normal, so please expect a much less shouty performance than usual...but well worth £50.
