Fundraising for Age UK
Story
I'm an old veteran, but I'm not lonely.
I love working with Age UK and Forces Friends.
Every week, I visit my old veteran through forces friends, part of the AgeUK.
I hope I am making a difference in his life somehow. He is a lonely old sod.
*Oldies update. Both of my veterans have passed away, and I won't be able to add another because the AgeUK "Forces Friends" program ran out of funds. Still, I'll support the civvie oldies.
Help me help them more.
When we were young, our parents would take us out for a meal and chat with their friends about the latest events in town. They always seemed so much happier than older people who don't have anyone to talk to or laugh with anymore! It can be a hard life as an elderly person when you're on your own - especially if there's no one around that understands what it feels like because they've had families all their lives to themselves
I’m running the London Marathon to support Age UK, but if you want me take on tasks in exchange for your donation it would be no problem at all!
This is important because this organization helps so many older people who are alone or have few friends left. They provide companionship through services such as advice and support groups where they can share stories with others going through similar experiences; these donations will help keep them afloat financially which means more time spent providing quality care rather than fundraising efforts like running 26.2 miles.
