Story
My Dad was my world, my hero, my everything. Unfairly, on March 4th 2018 his life was cut short.
At just 55 years old he lost his long and hard battle to liver cirrhosis. Ever since being diagnosed back in 2014 my Dad changed his life for the better. He stayed sober and became the Dad I always dreamt of having. He took care of my Mum and I and he loved us both unconditionally. He did everything right, he fixed all of the mistakes that he made in the past as an alcoholic and became the kindest, most loving man you could have ever met.
Whilst we have been searching high and low online for a charity that is best suited to raise money in honour of my Dad it has really opened our eyes that there are very few research groups or charities for liver diseases, making this even more important.
The liver is the second largest organ in the body and performs over 500 functions. You cannot survive without a healthy liver. Liver disease kills more than diabetes and road accidents put together, and it is the only major cause of death still increasing year-on-year.
Your donations will help the British Liver Trust to fight liver disease across the UK. There are many different causes of liver disease; The British Liver Trust provide information, support and care for patients and families and campaign for better and fairer treatment.
