Story
Thanks to all my colleagues, friends and family for visiting my fundraising page.
From 19th to 23rd May, 2009, I will be rowing the River Thames from Lechlade in Gloucestershire to The Cutty Sark at Greenwich, a distance of 150 miles with 45 locks to negotiate.
I am delighted that Thames Water have supported my event with a very generous donation to SSAFA of £350. It will be fantastic to row one of the most famous rivers in the world.
I will be rowing solo 30 miles a day in my catamaran sculling boat "Scullcat", which I built in 2007. I am very grateful to The Army, Exeter University OTC and my family for their help with encoragement, shore support and logistics.
SSAFA is a cause I feel passionate about. The charity provides huge support to serving men and women, or those who have served in our armed forces and their families, often as a result of hardship after returning from service in conflict zones around the world. Just one day's service qualifies them for support.
I will be very grateful if you can help me to help them.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: SSAFA Forces Help gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thank you everyone.
