Story
Thank you visiting this page, and reading my story. I know there is a lot going on in the world right now, and the last couple of years have been tough on everyone, so thank you for taking the time to be here.
As some of you may know, and some may not, my Mum died from breast cancer in February 2020. Although she had lived with breast cancer on and off for over 10 years, when the end came, it came quite quickly and was a huge shock to me, Lin and Kev, and our partners and families.
Those of you who knew Mum will probably remember her as kind, generous, caring, and loving. She was also brave and determined, and some might even say a little eccentric! She touched the hearts of all those she crossed paths with, and always put on a brave face, even when the rounds of chemo and radiotherapy were extremely challenging.
When Mum was alive, she did a lot of fund raising for Breast Cancer Now. In fact being invited to a Gala Dinner in London and being recognised for her fund raising was something she was immensely proud of, and a memory she cherished long after the event.
With that in mind, I'm honoured and humbled to have the opportunity to help continue Mum's legacy, and to raise money for Breast Cancer Now, by running the London Marathon in 2022.
This is my first marathon, and I'm as nervous as I am excited! I plan to upload some video updates of my training as it progresses, and will hopefully record the final post from just past the finish line.
So thanks for reading, and any spare pennies and pounds you can donate to this great charity are all gratefully received.
Thank you
Steve
