Electric Umbrella create amazing music experiences with learning disabled people. In doing so they help change the way the world looks
at them - and others.
Through education programmes in mainsteam schools delivered by musicians and learning disabled members, Electric Umbrella show 30,000 children a year that there really is 'No Such Thing as Normal', and are changing the world one gig at a time.
By taking part in an endurance race covering almost 9000km in 3 months I hope to raise significant funds for Electric Umbrella to enable them to continue thier amazing work.
I am currently training as hard as I can, and will be leaving for Cairo on 9th Jan 2023. The race starts on 14th Jan, and ends 22nd April in Cape Town.
I will be cycling around 125km a day for 5 days at a time, with 1 day off for rest/washing...and then repeat! That's 3 months of camping!
I have a Garmin Inreach satellite tracker and will be able to share a location/map position every few days to anyone interested in tracking my journey.
