Story

Story

On Sunday 13th May, a team of 15 from stevensdrake Solicitors will be taking part in the inaugural British Airways Run Gatwick 5k, in aid of our chosen charity, Alzheimer's Society.

We are a mix of seasoned runners and absolute beginners but we are taking on the challenge for us all to complete the run and your support to spur us on in our training and achieving our goal of raising £1,000 for this fantastic charity.

The Cause

The challenge is in aid of the Alzheimer's Society - the UK's leading support and research charity for people with dementia, their families and carers.

850,000 people live with dementia in the UK... if we don't take action this number is predicted to rise to over two million by 2051.

225,000 people develop dementia every year, that's roughly one person every three minutes.

1,340,000,000 hours were spent caring for people with dementia in 2016. That's more than 150,000 years.

Thank you for your support.

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
