Story
Hi, I'm Steve a 38yr old, generally fit, and active guy; not averse to dipping my toes in different sports/activities. Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, where I hope raise some money for a very worthwhile cause.
Essex and Herts Air Ambulance save lives and reduce or prevent disability or suffering from critical illness and injury, by delivering first class pre-hospital emergency medical service to the people of Essex, Hertfordshire and surrounding areas.
Without access to National Lottery funding, and with limited Governmental support, The Essex and Herts Air Ambulance Trust rely mainly on generosity and goodwill to remain operational and saving lives.
As a runner for pleasure and general fitness, a marathon is probably the main challenge you can seek to accomplish. This year I was lucky enough to get a ballot place in the iconic London Marathon, for which I would be more than happy to just finish... However as an extra challenge to myself, and in an aid to try and raise money for a worthwhile cause, I'm aiming to finish sub 4hours.
I'm fortunate enough to be in the position where I, and my friends/family, have not needed the Air Ambulance service; however if I can do anything to help raise some money for EHAAT so that they may be there for others in need, then I'm happy to put myself through the pain of training 5 days a week for 20 weeks, to enable them to continue to help those who need them most.
