Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Sadly, many families don't know that The Sick Children's Trust exist until they need them. In November; what we had assumed would be a 10 day visit while Martha Grace had Open Heart Surgery ended up being 10 weeks. We dread to think what we would have spent on Hotels during that time.

Luckily for us we were accommodated by the Sick Children's Trust at their house on Guilford Street (Great Ormond Street Hospital) With clean and comfortable bedrooms, a Kitchen, Bathrooms and Laundry Facilities - it really was a home from home.

There are several houses near Hospitals around the country, however they do not receive any government funding and they rely solely on charity donations.

Steven Owen has very kindly put himself forward to run the Chester Half Marathon on the 18th May. Please donate whatever you can afford so that they can continue to support families like us - so we can continue to support our Children.

Thank you,

From the Family of Martha Grace

About the charity

The Sick Children’s Trust is the charity that gives families with a seriously ill child in hospital a comfortable place to stay and a friendly ear to listen in one of our ten ‘Homes from Home’. By providing families with somewhere to stay near their child they have one less thing to worry about.
