Story
Hello and welcome to my fundraising page, I am at the end of this going to ask you to be generous in your donations but first let me tell you what I plan to do!
It’s my plan to complete 536.9 km (333.6 miles) under my own steam, that is nearly the same as travelling from Salisbury to Newcastle.
The distance will be split between 3 events over 5 months, the first being The White Horse Challenge on the 27th of April. The White Horse Challenge is a 150km (93.2 mile) bike ride around Wiltshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire.
The second event, and the Daddy of the three! Is Ironman Lanzarote on the 24th of May, which incorporates a 3.8 km (2.3 miles) swim, 180 km bike (111.8 miles), and 42.2 km (26.2 miles) run.
The last (planned) event takes place on the 9th and 10th of August and is the Lakeland 100. The Lakeland 100 is the longest trail race ever to take place in the UK, and the distance covered is 100 miles (160.9 km) encompassing the whole of the Lakeland fells. The 100 miles is run unsupported and must be completed within 40 hours.
Although I am a little nuts, and those of you that know me can confirm this! I am doing this to raise money for ‘We Are Macmillan. Cancer Support’, all of us will be affected by cancer in some way, with 1 in 3 of us being diagnosed with cancer at some point our lifetime. Macmillan are there to met the practical, social and emotional needs of those suffering and fighting cancer. They are out in the homes, hospitals and communities helping people with the day to day challenges of having cancer.
This is why I am asking you to dig deep and give generously so I can raise as much money as possible for this very worthy charity.
