Story
Hello again
This is it, my attempt at a dream. I have worked for 3 years to this point and the fundraising has started. I will be looking to Climb in August 2015, the course lasting for 6 days and summit Europe’s tallest mountain It rises 4,810 m (15,781 ft).
There is still a lot of work to do between now and then and a lot of offline fundraising too.
A nice reminder for you, The Tiny Loves fund help the RVI and other hospitals care and provide for premature children on the special care unit. The care they give and help they provide give clothes, machines incubators and other equipment to the unit. Our son was born ten weeks premature and the care he received give me his life and gifted us with the funniest cheekiest little boy you will ever meet.
They are responsible for helping to save the lives of 2 people I hold so dear to my heart and my life. Lucas was born 10 weeks premature at 3 pound 10 Oz and needed reviving for 7 minutes after birth. My fiancée had a placental abruption and lost a lot of blood then suffered from Pre eclampsia. He was in the unit for 6 weeks and grew stronger every day. The emotional time we went through affected our personal and working lives. We took strength and comfort from the amazing staff at the RVI Scabu and the support from the Charity that funds it. This is far and beyond the most difficult point of my life. He is now 3 and is brilliant, funny, clever and very cheeky.
If you have known me and know me this is a pivotal point in my life and the sense of ambition leading to this has been a scary one also. In my heart i have held the thoughts and experience i went through with Lucas during his time in the RVI and look at what a boy he has become, so many families have been through this also and the range of emotions they go through is far more then climbing a mountain.
Please help the children and families that have to go through this unfortunate event, your donations will go so far and if I could climb Everest or K2 to give something more back I would do it in a heartbeat.
