It started simply as a trivial suggestion...

In order to celebrate The Wine Society having been in Stevenage for 50 years and Montreuil for 10, 7 members of staff are cycling the 150(ish) miles from HQ in Stevenage, Herts, to The Wine Society's French showroom in Montreuil-sur-Mer, Pas-de-Calais, in one day!

Our mini peleton will be setting off on the morning of Saturday 20th June 2015, with the aim of reaching Montreuil-Sur-Mer that same evening.

Our team of 7 will be made up of: Ben Briffett, Freddy Bulmer, Thom Buzzard, Thom Cleary, Jon Granger, Matthew Horsley & Simon Mason.

Along with celebrating the fantastic expansion and growing success of The Wine Society, we wanted to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. Unfortunately, cancer is something that will likely effect all of us in our lifetime, whether we, or a loved one falls ill. Thanks to the truly inspirational work of Macmillan, it means that invaluable resources and hugely supportive and caring professionals are on hand, when you need them most. Macmillan is a fantastic organisation and raising a bit of cash for them is the very least we can do.

Many thanks for your support, it will help us to keep our pedals turning for the last mile up the cobbled roads of Montreuil, after 140-something miles of punishment!!
