Story
Dear all
as some of you may have heard, a few of us decided (we are still not sure why!!!!) to complete the ITEX 'Around the Island' Charity Walk this Saturday - 19th of June. The walk is a mere 48.1 miles (77.4 km) that needs to be completed in a maximum of 24 hours in what we assumed was ‘flat walking’ until a few of our Jersey colleagues informed us of the dreaded Jersey cliffs (more info on the walk can be found further down the page). So yes, we will be starting our little stroll at 03.00 on Saturday morning....
Apart from the usual reasons as to why we are doing this (being mad, trying to get fitter, team bonding etc), we are also doing this for a really good cause - the CLIC SARGENT CANCER CARE FOR CHILDREN charity. A number of charities were short-listed by the organisers of the walk and this is the one that best resonated with our own personal lives (more info on the charity is available further down the page). We hope that you will help motivate us along with our walk by donating generously to this good cause (we will need a LOT of motivation!!!!) and if you happen to be in Jersey on Saturday, do come and support us – we will probably need it (specially in the later stages of the walk!).
We will hopefully be able to share pictures of this great day and we will also share our registration number so that you can check whether we actually completed the event!!!!!
