Story
Here we go then!
My Dad, Merv, has recently been diagnosed with prostate cancer. This is an illness that we will fight as a family, but on a personal level I wanted to do something that will make a difference to Merv and others fighting this disease.
I have decided to cycle the 305 miles between London Paddington and Penzance. I will do this over 3 days (05 March - 07 March) and I will do this on my exercise bike at home.
To replicate the journey as close as possible, I will change the resistance of the bike to match the gradients of the route. For those of you not into your railway gradients (although I'm sure you are), this means tackling some very steep climbs over long distances at the end of day 2 and throughout day 3.
I will be cycling the following legs:
Paddington - Castle Cary (115 miles)
Castle Cary - Plymouth (110 miles)
Plymouth - Penzance (80 miles)
Whilst the main aim is to raise money (and hopefully have fun), I will be giving this a real good go. Any words of inspiration, hints or tips are very, very welcome. I will also be sharing a Spotify link nearer the time for you to throw your tunes in to keep me going.
**18/01/2021 update: target raised to £1,305 from £305 due to absolutely phenomenal uptake so far**
