Story
In March 2018 our lives were turned upside down, our son, Zachary, was diagnosed with non hodgkins Burkitts Lymphoma. (Blood cancer) All of this happened a week before we were due to get married.
Zachary has to undergo two operations to remove two tumours in his bowel and one tumour in his neck. Then once he had recovered from the ops he had to start 4 months of gruelling chemotherapy.
Luckily for us and thanks to the amazing people at Birmingham children’s hospital, Zachary is now doing fantastically well and going from strength to strength. Obviously this recovery wouldn’t have been possible without the hospital and that is why I’ve decided to run the London marathon to try and give a bit more back to the hospital.
A lot of you reading this will know that we’ve raised a fair bit for the hospital in the past doing a fundraiser and running the Birmingham Half marathon with two mates Dick and James. I don’t feel like I can ever repay the hospital for what they have done for us, but hopefully doing a bit of running and hopefully raising some cash, can go some way to repaying a lifetime of debt we owe.
Thanks for reading my page and thanks from the bottom of my family’s hearts for donating. Every little tiny bit helps. ❤️
UPDATE***
Anthony, my brother, is now running the run for me as I’m having a few personal issues so can’t participate unfortunately.
