We support treatment, research and care to make our hospitals even better

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

When I first told Steven Byrne that I was doing the Total Warrior 10k up and down a load of hills in the Lake District, the laughter was both merciless and relentless.

Once he'd calmed down, I told him that I wanted to donate anything raised to a charity of their choice. Without hesitation, they nominated Royal Manchester Childrens Hospital.

I am proud to be doing this as a small thank you to RMCH for the care, love and treatment given to Thomas Byrne in his courageous and ultimately victorious battle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.

When I visited the hospital to see Thomas, I witnessed first hand how these amazing medical professionals treat their patients and families. It was humbling and moving but also awe-inspiring.

Let's hope that someone will raise some more funds for me to pay for the medical bills etc when I finally get round the course.

No donation is too small (£50 minimum donation applies - kidding!!) so please give what you can. If you are unable to support financially, I would welcome any messages of support as I aim to take on my biggest challenge since telling the wife she had to stop spending!!

Also, if I hit my target amount or more, my employer, The Co-operative will kindly donate an extra £100 to RMCH. A superb gesture.

Again, thank you for supporting this wonderful cause and I apologise in advance for the amount of moaning that I will do whilst I train for the event.

I just can't wait to run through those rivers, climb huge walls and crawl through those dark and dank tunnels......

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thank you very much.
