1 in 4000 babies are born with thyroid problems and a very small percentage of these babies have no thyroid at all. These babies with no thyroid will be on medication for life to prevent learning difficulties, chronic fatigue, growth problems and several other issues.

Our daughter Eilidh was discovered to be amongst the small percentage that are born without a thyroid, and was only discovered thanks to early and accurate testing. Since two weeks old she has been on daily medication and doing the same as any other baby her age, the apple of mum & dads eye.

As a result of this, and all the research that both Natalie and myself did into thyroid problems, I wanted to give something back, to ensure research continues, treatment improves and parents like us continue to get support and help.
