Story
Now I don't usually raise money for charity through my running as it's something I love doing. However, 100miles is quite a different level of running, and not only is it 100miles, it's also in the Lake District with plenty of hills. (I think I've worked out correctly that I shall be climbing about 70% the height of Everest). I also hope to achieve this in about 30hours, non stop. So not just your average running event. Hence I think it deserves a bit of fund raising for!!
My wife was diagnosed with MS about 10 years ago. We both love an active lifestyle which the MS didn't have an impact on until just before the arrival of our second child a year ago. Consequently, her mobility went down hill quite quickly, and is now in a wheelchair when we are out and about. Ever the optimist, she is determined to regain more mobility and has been working with the physios at The Samson Centre in Guildford who have been amazing so far! Although MS is not currently curable, The Samson Centre have a brilliant team of physiotherapists who specialise in MS who work with patients to learn to manage their symptoms, keeping them mobile and their muscles moving.
Please donate anything you can and you can track my progress on the weekend starting 23rd July https://lakeland100.com/thelakeland50100/
