We plan to convert a bus into a mobile sensory unit that can benefit people with autism, our goal is to work with every school in our local community to offer these facilities onsite & bring a sensory unit to any event making it autism-friendly.

Story

Stand Out For Autism would like to purchase a bus to convert into a mobile sensory unit that can benefit people with autism. Whilst sensory rooms are available in special needs schools, this facility is not available to children in mainstream schools, so our primary goal is to work with every school in our local community (RBWM) to offer these facilities onsite. Our plans do not stop there as we will be able to bring a sensory unit to any event transforming into an autism-friendly environment. We will be able to offer a range of equipment and a sensory space to help people who may be over or under stimulated while out and also help to provide a safe space away from the noise and crowds creating an inclusive family day out. We also plan to use the bus as a multi-purpose space offering haircut bookings, family meet ups, counselling sessions, birthday parties and Santas Grotto. Our aim is to offer our a unique environment to help raise awareness and to promote equality, diver
